But WL does not profit monetarily from the leaks, at least not which we know of, so keeping it headline news for a year just for publicity isn't necessary. As you see from the docs already released, putting out the most sensitive data (such as those labeled secret) first would not necessarily give us everything we wanted to send the governments running to the gallows, as a lot of the docs, even though they have high securityattached to them, are pretty useless.

I think if wikileaks does know EVERYTHING that are in the 250,000 docs, then they would certainly be using this as blackmail. The fact that they are censoring certain organizations and people is nice, but shows a little lack of credibility that we all desire. For example, look at the recent leaks from dec 5 :

Companies and people from Spain and Germany are implicated in supplying equipment that will aid in the production of WMD's. The Spain connection is with Syria. I belive they supplied metals. A German company supplied environmental testing chambers to Iran. At first, the German Govt would not allow the sale, so the company instead went to its Chinese arm and sold the equipment to Iran from there. The German company as well as the Syrian companies are hidden. Shouldn't these companies be sanctioned? I would say yes, if non-proliferation were important to our politicians. Then again, without names, where and on whom do you place the sanctions, right? To me it makes no sense to censor some but reveal some as well. Either censor ALL important people/places/entities or do not censor any, that way you don't get controversy. That way you don't get discredited. That way you don't appear hypocritical.

There were many strategies WL could have used, but they seem to be using the one that will benefit them the most, which goes beyond media attention and PR, and that's the problem. If they have the comprehenseive knowledge of the files and are able to say the things they said, most recently having the docs to bring down one of the largest banks in the world, that means they have things pretty organized, so they know what they are doing is holding the world hostage, person by person, country by country, company by company. But why? What are they getting out of it?

I strongly disagree. WL is using the strategy which will most effectively tear down the wall of silence and secrecy that keeps us all in the dark and enslaved. The intended most important point of impact is on TPTB themselves, not on the general public. Increased public awareness is also important, but not the most impoartant. Releasing the info gradually keeps the pressure and stress on the vipers in all sorts of ways, and also gives the public time to assimilate it...one big release would never be properly absorbed and would be over and done with in days, IMO, not even weeks. It would be total information overload for the majority of people who only read what's in the MSM, sadly.

Agreed...and disecting possible motives for the entire scenario I suspect a foreign country, previously allied closely with CIA and Mossad and MI 6+, and just recently this little country is now getting the backhand of support instead of tons of money and planes etc...as well as looking the other way at this little countries shanagans and mis-deeds to their fellow neighbors.

All that has changed and the little country is now pissed off. So, considering a single (private rank) primary source with a reasonable motive would have to be revealing sordid details in small bits and pieces, while holding all the sordid bits for later unless support for this country continues otherwise more links will be made embarrassing the entire western civilization governments and secret agendas.

Other than suggesting "leaks" are from that this little country and their minions and secret cables the disclosure timing and format represent THEIR agenda...until they get what they want, more will be forthcoming all leading to the ultimate lie spread around by all governments to control their people. Two big lies will eventually be cracked: existence of aliens and a planet or two which are all on those cables held captive by "leaks".

The first initial effort is to keep their leader alive and free, then slowly release damning cables proving that all the public talk is lies and most speeches in congress too are lies all for show...once the embarrasement keeps up and no cooperation is forthcoming to this little country, the big lies will be made public...damaging all western confidence in media and governments.

The good thing, obama is not involved in any of this, but most in his admin are criminals due to be exposed.

BTW of all the countries put at risk for their behavior in the "leaks" which one is not suspected of any embarrasements? That is your target release country...the source of "leaks"...

Poster is correct and I agree with this conclusion that the timing of the releases are suspect; unless you consider the motive and cause of it all.

Perhaps what seems illogical right now will, in fact, turn out to be logical in the end. Think about a criminal trial, where the prosecution presents it's evidence. The prosecution doesn't go straight to the most damning evidence. They meticulously prepare and layout their case, leading the jury along in a logical, sequential process. When the pieces of the puzzle are put together and the picture becomes clearer, then they drop in the last few pieces that make the case complete and airtight.

I don't know if this is what Wikileaks is up to, but those people are not stupid. Everything has been paced and, likely, well thought out.
