i found this news story quite intresting

and thaught i would put it out there because it seems

more and more we have to bite our tounges and

not always to our benefit

Howard Flight and Lord Young have joined a long list of people who have realised that there are some things you can't say. So when and why is an utterance likely to get you in trouble?

We have come to learn as either public or private individuals that there are certain situations that mean careful self-censorship is required.

For all the talk of freedom of speech in liberal democracies, poorly chosen comments can end careers, lead to arrest, or just cause offence and embarrassment. So what are the unwritten rules and regulations of speech?

You aren't allowed to say "men are intelligent". You will be called a sexist when logically you did not say women are not intelligent. The inverse of a logical statement is not equivalent to the original conditional.

Philosophers, computer scientists, and mathematicians, be careful. Logic has no place in society.

Well in the UK we really don't have the concept of Freedom of Speech anyway, there are laws preventing people from saying or publishing lots of things.

The article you posted however isn't really a list of things you can't say, they are things that were STUPID to say, they said them and were then judged on their views.
