KNOW your ballot !!!

OH MY GOODNESS !!!!
Look at all those political signs
out beside the road. They're
everywhere. It's a mass of
propaganda and phrases like
"Vote for me!!!" I am just so
disgusted every time election
time comes around as it seems
like this is the only time that
politicians even care that you exist.
The political attack ads that show
up on TV are just downright
disgusting. But do you really
know whose names are gonna be
on your ballot when you go vote?
Most people just vote for the name
they remember or the catchiest phrase.
But I urge you not to be taken in
by big party politics. There will be
some names on your ballot that
you have never heard of. And it's because
MSM has hidden their existence cuz they
don't have the funding the 2 big partys
generate. That doesn't mean the candidate
you never heard of will not do the job better
or create the change we have been looking
for.

I am posting this thread cuz I want all of us
who are participating in the Nov. election
to know just WHO is gonna be on the ballot
you fill out. It should not be a surprise to you
to find a name you never heard of on your
ballot. Do your homework as a voter even if
the MSM will not cover some of those
candidates.

There is a website called votesmart.org
which shows a state by state listing of
every candidate's name you will see on
the ballot. It has a tool on this web site
that lists each candidate and what they
stand for and their views on topics of
concern. I urge ALL who participate
in this election to not go warily into
the voting booth ignorant of ALL their
choices. Get yourself prepared to vote
like you would for a job interview or
a game plan for a football game.
The better prepared you are for this
election, the better the outcome will
be for the populace.

www.votesmart.org...

About halfway down this page, there
is a list of each state and it's candidates
who are running for each office that is
listed on your state's ballot. This is
the best way I know of to acquaint yourself
with what your ballot will look like when you
enter the voting booth.

If you click on the candidates name you will get
a more detailed excerpt of their views and stance.
Do your homework America !!!

Know your ballot !!!

p.s. just a side note, since the Tea Party
is not an official party, most grass roots Tea Partiers
are being listed as "no party" on the ballots.
So don't let the ballot confuse you as you may
look to vote for tea Party members on the ballot
but none may be listed as such. Know where
they are and how they are labeled. And also
remember some Tea Partiers are being listed
as GOP candidates if they win the GOP caucus.
TPTB are counting on you being ignorant in the
voting booth and being overcome with confusion.
Let's not give them that benefit.

Well, the voting is only the beginning.

The next step HAS to be self governance and holding your representative's feet to the fire.

I have to say, my state is going to completely flip in this year's election.

The only one with even a slight chance is Ron Kind. I am doing my part, I have about 50 people signed onto going to the booths to rid us of the current crop of idiots.

Keep up the good work Boondock.

Boondock Saints Prayer

"And Shepherds we shall be
For thee, my Lord, for thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti."

Il Duce's Prayers
"And when I vest my flashing sword And my hand takes hold in judgement I will take vengeance upon mine enemies And I will repay those who hase me O Lord, raise me to Thy right hand And count me among Thy saints ."

"Whosoever shed last blood. By man shall his blood be shed. For immunity of god make he the man. Destroy all that which is evil. So that which is good may flourish. And I shall count thee amoung my favoured sheep. And you shall have the protection of all the angels in heaven."

"Never shall innocent blood be shed. Yet the blood of the wicked shall flow like a river. The three shall spread their blackened wings and be the vengeaful striking hammer of god. "

my point here is,
do they really know who
the incumbent is in a race?
If it is not listed on the ballot as
to whom the incumbent is, then
they will have to remember
on their own.

it's downright disgusting.
If you can't get enough votes
to win outright, then you just
split the opposition votes so they get
less votes. I got news for them.
It doesn't make their light shine
any brighter by dimming
their opponents.

Politicians and political strategy
just appall me. All of them need
to go. It's nothing but a snake pit
of DC vipers.

Thank you SO much for this, Boondock Saint! I was planning to research the candidates' positions on the issues individually, so this is a huge time & effort saver.

Just a note for people who visit the Web site -- the "Vote Easy" feature is good, but it only ranks the candidates based on a few issues. It's really worthwhile to visit each candidate's results from the political courage test because it gives a more complete picture.

I think its great that your doing this, I'm sure many people feel overwhelmed with the amount of research and information sorting that comes with making an informed decision.

The problem I have with voting is that it seems like canidates will say whatever needs to be said to grab your vote and then have absolutly no issues with going back on promises once in office. Although I'm not American and there for wont be voting at the election in question, my city is currently having elections for mayor, thats mostly why your thread caught my attention. (However I am interested in the outcome of your election as well.)

So my question is this, to put it bluntly, how do you wade through the bull#? I find myself caring more and more to make my vote count, but I have a very difficult time believing what anyone says.

I keep seeing this "Vote No on Prop. 8" signs everywhere so I looked it up and I saw that I was for prop. 8, imagine how many stupid people could be voting for/against something because most signs in their area say yes/no to something.

I have taken my time to research everyone/thing I am voting for and I have already finished my research and will be casting an absentee ballot on Monday. At least I am not stupid about elections like some people, a friend of mine said they are voting Democrat straight down the line because they are Democrats, I told him that voting just because they have a (D) in front of their names is not wise. What if they were completely corrupt? He would just vote for them anyway without any research.

Oh those Republicans!!

In my daily travels I have met with those whom you all are limited to see via your television sets. To you commoners who vote for the likes of the GOP, I cannot resist in the sharing of my delight and humor to share among them in the collecting of the commoners monies again. The level of foolishness cannot be of higher quality. My humor of your destruction I cannot hide you common citizens of America.

In my decades of worldly travels, I have not seen a more foolish industrialized people whom so shortly forget the party to which is their biggest enemy, and to now shun the party who does in fact support middle class commoners.

For us wealthy, we thank you for voting for our fat elephant.

We thank you graciously commoners.

Thank you for showing me the votesmart website!! That was rather a surprise I will now have to change my Senate candidate here in FL.

Senate = Kendrick Meek(D) 83%
House = Heather Beaven(D) 58%

I will have to send this link to all of my family and friends, let them know who stands for what.
