Very true. Often people are placed into groupings and interest groups. This propegates a mass amount of group thinking. This makes me think of this quote from George S. Patton "If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking".

To answer the OP's question though....thing is, there were craft observed in the late 40's on, that STILL defy aerial feats today's craft are capable of. IF these were all ours, then it doesn't make sense that such craft wouldn't have made it into production in all these decades.

Not sure about those top secret manual claims on those aircraft....but these days, I know my father wasn't leaving the plant with any manuals detailing the Raptor. He had a pretty rigorous security protocol to go through, and wouldn't even be able to leave with a scrap of paper with handwritten notes if he wanted.
