Came across this interesting article in The Gaudians comment section Regarding Black Tea Party member Lloyd Marcus. It makes for an interesting read as do the comments left below the article.

So, when I hear politicians, such as Barack Obama, pandering to the so-called poor of America, it turns my stomach. I've witnessed the deterioration of the human spirit, wasted lives and suffering that happens when government becomes "daddy".

As a brit i'm not 100% sure what the Tea Party is all about, but thought this was an interesting article to share.

Wow, listen to these racist liberal reporters. "Why can't you just take mommy and daddy's word for it? Why don't you calm down and listen to us? I'm not going to play your games!"

This article precisely explains why I'm in the tea party. Government has been dumping money into these issues for years, creating low income housing, "the projects", and all it has served to do is separate the black community from the rest of America. The Ghetto is an open air gulag created by the good intentions of government. The "ghetto mentality" is a product of those good intentions. I know, I've been there.

What does it take for a Hispanic immigrant child to not become a cholo(Hispanic gang-banger) in East L.A. in the early 1990s? That was me. I've seen all of it. The drugs, the prostitution, the shootings, the general suffering that is prevalent in the Hispanic community even today. The SEVERE lack of education, for the love of God- 4 out of 5 kids where I lived couldn't read. I know because I was the one who could, English or Spanish.

The story is the same. And I can pinpoint where in our policies this came from. Welfare is enslavement to a dependent lifestyle. It is a full time job getting the benefits. Welfare doesn't do anything to help the real cause of poverty in this country. Which is a lack of education, and economic output based on production of goods.

And when someone steps up to denounce the system that created the suffering in the first place, they are racist. Well, let me tell you people something! It is more racist to create enclaves of poor Black and Hispanic people walled off by blight and crime from the rest of the community, so as to pretty much facilitate and guarantee that children will grow up there, and continue the cycle endlessly, whilst the government funds their dependency on the squalor they provide in the first place.

That's effing racist as hell to me. And I was the only one among my friends who made it out. Some have been shot, some are junkies, and some are in jail. I'm alive. I have a happy existence, and the government didn't do any of it for me. Had my family and I accepted the governments "help" I'd be in prison, on drugs, or dead.

You are a black tea party member because you have pride.

Just because someone is black...or Chinese...or Vietnamese....or even French....doesn't mean someone is obligated to stand waist deep in a cess pool to be in some kind of socialist brotherhood.

You think LeBron James pulls some kind of Gandhi act by spending his offseason Saturday nights hanging out on the ghetto corner drinking Colt 45 malt liquor? Not a prayer. James is hanging out on South Beach along with everyone else who earns a good living the Capitalist way, and not afraid to spend his well earned money.

All this expectation that people with money and color have to apologize, that's not going to happen. Good on you for being proud of who you are.

Before I forget, here's several interesting thoughts on the welfare state of mind. It's a facebook page titled 'Poverty is a Choice.'
