Pennsylvania Homeland Security Puts Anti-tax Protesters On List of Terror Threats

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Pennsylvania’s Democrat governor Ed Renell is “deeply embarrassed” by the disclosure that state Homeland Security officials have designated anti-tax protesters and other folks exercising their First Amendment right to petition the government as a threat to the state’s infrastructure.

The state paid a Philadelphia-based nonprofit $125,000 to compile the list as part of the state Homeland Security's federally mandated mission to protect public infrastructure. The list included a Washington County meeting that Rendell attended to discuss Marcellus shale gas drilling, a screening of a documentary on the industry, a rally supporting Rendell's education budget and anti-tax protesters who took an inflatable pig to Harrisburg.

The state will not renew its one-year contract with the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response when it expires in October, Rendell said.

Infowars is an unreliable source.

Institute of Terrorism Research and Response the folks that included the guy with the giant inflatable pig in the potential terrorist threat list..

Sloppy work. 125k to equate Anti-Tax protestors with a potential terrorist threat?, the Gov got robbed.

If you remember...some guy with an anti-tax manifesto flew a small plane into an IRS building in Co or something maybe a year or two ago, but one idiot does not make a terrorist threat.

the homeland security was invented as a way to remove liberties...simply put.

First it was a terrorist monitering organization..people, freaked out from the terrorist attacks of the day, gladly allowed for this overpowering organization to gain control..even cheered the installation of the SS.

then they went after internet porn crime and meth..

people sort of agreed..after all, nobody would dare defend that group.

and since the slippery slope was established, they gained more and more control.
the SS is now expanding the base and will eventually justify being the super controller of society, all things will be considered in its domain.

Give any...ANY organization like that a inch, and you might as well just fit yourself with shackles...it will come eventually, all in the name of safety.

America deserves everything it gets, simply because it rules in fear verses contemplation and logic.
