this is so gross. it happened in 2008, but the report is just now getting out .

THOMASTON, Ga. – An Upson County couple is suing a grocery store chain in federal court, claiming that the husband found a used tampon in his bowl of cereal. According to the complaint, Thomas and Lynn Roddenberry said they bought a box of Chocolate Chip Crunch cereal from the Save-A-Lot store in Thomaston in October 2008. A day after buying the cereal, Thomas Roddenberry said he discovered the tampon in his bowl after taking a bite of the cereal.

news.yahoo.com...
This claim is somewhat far-fetched imo, but I suppose it is possible somehow....
How would a factory worker get a used tampon in the vat of cereal? unless it was intentional.

I dont see how this is possible with how automated everything it these days.

Great timing on this story though. I sat down with a bowl of cereal and read this on ats.

Oddly enough I was in Thomaston just last week and heard nothing about this from the locals - and it is a pretty small town.

The other odd thing is that they waited two years to file a lawsuit?

If it were me I'd have had the Cochran firm on the phone before the milk in the bowl got warm and I'd be loading my shotgun while reading the back of the cereal box for the address of where it was produced/processed.

Are they doing DNA testing on it?
That should take them to the alleged perp, don't you think?

That packaged cereal is not good to eat anyway, so if this turns you off on it you will have better health for it.
Read the ingredients.
Plain old puffed wheat or puffed rice in a clear plastic bag is best.

DNA test? It could either track someone in that family or at the plant

Sounds to me more like the wife got mad at her husband and put the tampon in his cereal when he wasn't looking. A used tampon would be hard to miss coming out of the box, don't you think? IF it happened at all.

I wonder if they're in financial stress.
