It has explanations to most of these on the Seti@home site; but just for you:

Arecibo is in northern Brazil. Computing Fast fourier and chirping are just technical words for things it does when scanning the data.

Hi websurfer!!

Welcome (and hope my U2U was helpful?)

We have many questions about SETI@home, as you'll understand, so the following resources might help you?

SETI tutorial

ATS SETI index

and - FAQ's of course - from the SETI@home website itself!!

Hopefully, these will be of some use to you but please ask if there is anything else we can do to assist!! Good luck!
