I looked at the proposed location for the casino and it looks to be well south of little round top which was the southernmost area where fighting occurred. Apparently there is already a sports complex on the site so I see no problem at all with this.

I'm all for preserving Civil war battle sites, it's a constant fight here in Richmond Va to prevent development. Given how many battles were fought here it can be kinda hard to save them all.

Anyhow, the casino deal looks to be a non-issue to me.

I live in the Spotsylvania Fredericksburg area, and we have these battles all the time. In reality most of the new development are not even on the battlefields, just on the out skirts. In fact the main argument around here is that the tourists while looking over a a battlefield will see modern America. I don't care unless actual historical sites are destroyed, who cares about the outskirts?
