TS Bonnie Is Expected To Form and Is Headed To The Oil Spill !

T.D. #3 is expected to become TS Bonnie in the next advisory as it is expected to strike the Florida Keys and possibly South Florida. The future track send it to Louisiana (identical track as Hurricane Katrina) and right throught the oil spill.

Indeed, Tropical Storm warnings are going up for South Florida.

If it stays in track, We'll end up being in the dirty quadrant for an extended period of time.

I seriously wonder what the locals are saying about the coming storm? Is there a sense of panic or concern? Also I have thought that they would drag their feet (BP) until the first storm and then claim that it is an act of God when even a tropical depression causes the worst case scenario.

Well, do we know if there have been more National Guardsmen stationed or ready to deploy to the area in case of trouble?

Have their been signs of FEMA or DHS moving in?

It is and has been hard to weed through the panic/paranoia threads to find out what the locals could tell you in an instant, at least the aware and alert ones.

Any locals on the board?

Since the Gulf stream is broken for what ever reason.. the waters in the Gulf aren't as warm.. so this storm isn't expected to turn into a hurricane.

If it does stay weaker (since we are not fully into the 'Active' month of August), it will hopefully allow the right people to be able to get a glimpse into the possibilities of what a stronger storm might do.

Since this will be the first time that meterologists around the world will be able to study the impacts of a tropical storm over the oil spill, the insight gained should at least help to be a little bit more prepared for 'if' something bigger does come along in August or September.

Your actually wrong, some forecasters are saying that it could become a hurricane or even a major hurricane but only if the hurricane's speed slows down because it is moving rapidly.
