Tsunami warning issued after Pacific quake

(CNN) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 struck off the coast of Papau New Guinea in the southwestern Pacific ocean Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake occurred at a depth of 57 kilometers (35 miles), USGS said. The epicenter was about 114 kilometers (71 miles) from the city of Kandrian, Papau New Guinea.
A tsumani warning was issued for Indonesia as a result of the quake, the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysics Agency reported.
There were no immediate reports of damage of injuries.
