www.abovetopsecret.com...

Is it a tad Ironic that this thread is gone?

Or has it moved somewhere where access is limited?

Just curious.

Citing another discussion forum is against the Terms and Conditions of this site. Hence its' removal from the public boards.

Hope that helps.

I find this especially interesting because a site owner (SkepticOverlord) posted an interesting reply in the thread, it wasn't removed then, but it is now.

Curiouser and Curiouser.

Has ATS been infiltrated?

Hey, take it easy on me, this is a conspiracy site you know.

Is this the specific SkepticOverlord's post you talked about? I retrieved it from Google Cache.

Here's an interesting tidbit I've mentioned before, but it's been a while.

I think it was back in early 2005 when we received a "buy out" offer from "Trinity's" company for AboveTopSecret.com, soon after they acquired GLP from the original owner.

At the time, the offer was not insignificant, but we forged ahead on our own and thanked them for their interest.

Lots of rumors spread, as is natural I suppose, regarding the ownership and intent of various high-profile sites in the "conspiracy" genre... and I can't speak for any of the authenticity of such rumors associated with GLP. However, there seems to be some ill-will focused in our direction, the source of which I'm hard-pressed to figure out. Perhaps because we turned them down. Dunno.

SkepticOverlord seemed okay with the subject, at least enough to reply to the discussion, and it was for a brief time available on the site home page.

Oh well, your site your rules.

I'm good with it.

But damn, I was just getting started.

Maybe some other topic will come up in the future with less chance of conflicting with the terms and conditions.

It's all good.

It would not have been just one "zealot" mod who took it down.

Decisions for thread closures are done with staff concensus, the issue is discussed and then appropriate action is taken.

So there's not just one mod who took it down, it would have been the mods in general who decided in broke the T&C.

SkepticOverlord included.

EDIT: Horrible spelling resulting in hysterical laughter..

MS, I'm a little vague on this:

Citing another discussion forum is against the Terms and Conditions of this site.

Is it JUST 'citing' another discussion forum as the topic of a thread?

Or, is it 'not OK' to cite another discussion forum while just making a thread post?? Because, sometimes in a conversation, other forums will get mentioned, in order to add/or refute what they have provided, in a fact-checking sense.

~~~
Speaking of "404-ing"...a rather whimsical thread recently suffered that fate (it involved a .... ermmm .... "crop circle" depicting a certain part of the male anatomy) and instead of consigning it to BTS, it was sent to the bin?
Just wondering if it TOO violated the T&C. (Not my thread, BTW...just thought it had a nice, light sense of humor to bring to the Boards...)
Maybe this can be discussed on the next ATS live?
www.abovetopsecret.com...
Not recruiting people to call in, just sayin' ...maybe?
That wordpress blog linked had a good amount of technical information and company detail digging.
GLP wasn't the only focus.
But the last comment contains a lot of ATS members listed.
Maybe that's why the thread was moved to the trash bin?
After discussion the move was decided to have been done in error and the thread has been restored.
This thread, however, will be closed as the issue has been resolved.
Thank you.
