here we go, there gonna tax us into poverty. We cant stop mother nature! Taxes will not stop mother nature. And thier guesstiment on the cost per house hold is conservative at best. These are the same people who brought us the health care bill, that i will refuse adimently. Live free or die!

An analysis by the EPA last month concluded that the Senate bill, dubbed the American Power Act, would cost households an average of $79 to $146 per year. Kerry and Lieberman said they believe Americans are willing to pay less than a dollar a day to curb global warming, reduce oil imports and create energy-related jobs.

In its report Wednesday, the CBO said the energy bill would increase federal revenues by about $751 billion from 2011 to 2020, mostly though the sale of carbon credits in so-called a cap-and-trade plan to be applied to utilities and other sectors of the economy

The legislation aims to cut emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping greenhouse gases by 17 percent by 2020 and by more than 80 percent by 2050

the 80% will come when they tax your breathing and your miles per year on your vehicle, and your household emmisions. Can anyone still taste our sweet freedom?

I think this is absurd.
How can you tax someone
for something that is already ours???

Ok, let's tax the Eskimos for their ice???
WTF???

I propose the Federal Government Tax Act.
Tax every government official or employee
a standard $1,000 a month and give it to
every American Citizen. My reasoning is
that we have to put up with idiots like you
sitting in Washington coming up with all
these idiotic schemes to bankrupt an already
poverty stricken populace.

Vote yes on the referendum of the
Fed Gov Tax Act !!!!

Um, sorry everyone but let's throw some reality at this issue

Monthly Federal Deficit for 2010

Jan 2010: $ 42,600,000,000
Feb 2010: $220,900,000,000
Mar 2010: $ 65,400,000,000
Apr 2010: $ 82,700,000,000
May 2010: $135,900,000,000

Total Deficit Through May: $547,500,000,000
# of Days through end of May 2010: 151

So here is how much the US borrows:
$ 3,626,000,000 per day
$ 151,000,000 per hour
$ 2,500,000 per minute
$ 42,000 per second

Something tells me it just doesn't matter.
