Many in the global community have said that Pakistan has a dual agenda in the war on Terrorism. But Pakistan is seeking to quiet the critics and
showing great resolve amid incredible risk while pursuing Al-Qaeda terrorists who are hiding within the muslim nation. Pakistan like Saudi Arabia is a
majority Muslim nation and it is difficult to wage war along with the U.S.A. while controlling unrest among the Muslim masses. But they are doing it
anyway. Today Pakistan ended one more battle in the war on terrorism.

Pakistani troops have ended a major operation to flush out al Qaeda suspects and their local supporters from hideouts in a remote region near
Afghanistan. An army spokesman said Monday that 72 people died, including 17 security personnel.
The United States military in Afghanistan praised the operation, but said it was not aware that any al Qaeda leaders had been captured.
Even as the five-day operation ended in South Waziristan, two Pakistani soldiers and a driver were killed and three injured Monday in the bombing of a
vehicle carrying paramilitary forces in neighboring North Waziristan. Also, Pakistani intelligence agents exchanged gunfire with al Qaeda suspects
near a northern city, killing one militant.

Pakistan has had to walk a very thin line in the war on Terrorism. while having a very large population of Muslims, many radical and sympathetic to
Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden. However they have gained much from supporting the U.S.A. in this war.
The down side in my view is that Pakistan is losing it's people. and any nation that faces such a dilemma has it's leaders fighting mainly for
survival. The same can be said for Saudi Arabia. Throughout history nations that have lost the will of the people and their trust have faced civil war
and even coupe. Pakistan has known this pain in the past. While I admire their assistance in this war. I have to wonder what the ultimate future of
Pakistan will be. If there is a coupe and the leadership overthrown we will then have a nation of radical muslims with a nuclear arsenal.
The world seems to be descending into a very uncertain place and time. and indeed the war on terrorism itself seems to be increasing the danger for
some of these nations we would call Allies.
