I remembered reading about this someplace though I can't recall where.

Apparently the Sagattarius dwarf galaxy, which lies just beneath the galatic center of our own dear Milky Way is on a crash collision with us.
But don't worry...we all should be fine. Further studies have shown that Sagattarius has apparently made this trip several times and has survived! ( I didn't know dwarf galaxies orbited us untill I read this either!) The folks who study this stuff seriously have determined that Sagattarius' survival must be dependant on an vast quantity of dark matter which seems to hold it together while it cuts in.

Fun stuff eh?
