U.S. military officials confirmed to NBC News today that a 22-year old military intelligence analyst has been taken into custody for allegedly providing the document-posting website Wikileaks with classified gun-camera video of a 2007 Apache helicopter attack that killed innocent civilians in Baghdad.

Specialist Bradley Manning of Potomac, Md., whose arrest was reported yesterday on Wired.com’s "Threat Level" blog, was reported to Army officials by former hacker Adrian Lamo, according to the tech website

When exposing the truth becomes a crime, it is truly a sad day in our nation. I understand that there are security issues that must be taken into consideration and that the lives of our soldiers may be put in jeopardy, but exposing the truth is necessary. I wonder if the pilots in these Apaches and their superiors who gave the go ahead were held accountable?

And I was hoping it was one of the gunners or any of the soulless ones in that blackhawk.Cowards and scumbags is just putting it lightly. These instances are not representative of America.

Wow, that sucks. Being from a military family, I'm pretty sure his superiors are MIGHTY pissed off and he will unfortunately pay dearly for it. Like the previous poster said, it's truly a sad day when telling the truth is considered a crime.
