Just a quickie to see if anyone has an answer to something that has niggled at me for a while now. Does anyone know if it is possible to add quotation/punctuation marks to a COLOR BBCode? I usually have to delete all quotation/punctutaion marks within the COLOR boundary otherwise the code does not work and just returns the actual text for the code into the post.

Not that it's a big issue
, I'm just a stickler for detail is all

Loam has a great guide to code here.

If you can't find the information there I bet you could U2U Loam and ask him. He's all up on that stuff and really a helpful and kind ATS'er!

PEACE

# An Important Note

Some punctuation will interfere with BBCode. For example, apostrophes found inside *color* tags will make the BBCode fail. If something isn’t working, look for punctuation or special characters between your tags. Chances are those are the items causing you trouble.

So it seems i'm going to have to just get over my fetish for detail

If you don't want the quotation marks colored, you could just put them outside of the BBCode.

And it would end up looking "like this".

Intetestingly, the BBcode that wasn't working in the thread works here on the "typing screen". I wonder why?

"Floppityboppityflimflam"

''Floppityboppityflimflam''

`Floppityboppityflimflam`

testing

ok one works, so it you need a ' you can use an ` instead.

example:

Don`t go over there!

I'm pretty sure I've found a workaround in the past, let me see if I can get it again. This post may be edited as I work

Ding's workaround

Ding’s workaround

Okay, that worked
You have to use escape characters for the punctuation marks. I found a table here.

In this case, I used this line:

[color=yellow]Ding’s workaround[/color]

To get this:
Ding’s workaround

first edit to add that it worked and link to escape character chart, second edit trying to figure out how to put the code I used without it activating, third edit to clean up brackets.

That was where I was heading, for some reason I thought you needed a forward slash / before the ampersand as in /&#xxx;

that anything can work now ©
