This reminds me of the movie Gattaca which a high school teach of mine had my class watch years back.

Gattaca - Wiki description

It's actually a very real and scary concept. If we ever do get to the point where you can choose the genetics of your child that could lead to bad consequences. In this move those who were not perfect were discriminated against. It's worth renting, I am not sure if it's on netflix or not.

Well, my assumption is that this is a goal. To control fertility by corrupting it, and then commodifying it.

That way only people with enough money can breed.

Which also explains why fertile women are being made into societal villians - that way the women who remain fertile despite attempts to curtail fertility physiologically will be made into societal pariahs so that they don't challenge the fertility-industry.

Redundant or not. It still feels good.

Besides. Don't these scientist know that humans, along with dolphins, have sex for pleasure as well as procreation?

IVF is a way for couples to procreate when all aother measures have failed.

Like that old saying goes: If it feels good, do it!
