The Russian Defense Ministry said Friday it had released a group of Somali pirates who hijacked an oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden this week, the Interfax news agency reported.

Now, before you get all ancy at the Russians, take into consideration what isn't said in this article - that the pirates were released 350 miles off shore, in an inflatable raft with no navigation equipment - and it is also further believed that it sunk an hour later as it disappered from the radar.

At least they were nice enough to give them a raft. I would have told them all to start swimming.
