The SEC has thrown the G-S file over the cubicle wall to the Justice Dept., who will conduct a criminal investigation into the case.

The SEC only conducts civil suits.

Federal prosecutors are conducting a criminal investigation into whether Goldman Sachs or its employees committed securities fraud in connection with its mortgage trading. The criminal probe raises the stakes for Goldman.

I don't see this "investigation." reaching the top of Goldman-Sacs the SEC passed this to the DOJ because it's now a political hot poatoe and they don't wanna touch it.Holder will sit on this until it goes away and the jackals on WS continue as they have.
