Cerberus Agrees to Acquire DynCorp in $1 Billion Deal

Yes this is the same group that bought Chrysler a couple of years back, but the interest piquing portion of this latest acquisition, added to other government services companies, a firearms company has me wondering if this isn't a clue to events of the near future.

Nothing concrete in my head at the moment, just wanted to see if other members' eyebrows might be raised after reading the details in this article...

April 12 (Bloomberg) -- Cerberus Capital Management LP, the private-equity firm whose takeover of Chrysler Corp. ended in bankruptcy, agreed to buy defense contractor DynCorp International Inc. for about $1 billion.
Cerberus, run by Steve Feinberg, will pay $17.55 a share, Falls Church, Virginia-based DynCorp said today in a statement. The price is 49 percent more than DynCorp’s closing share price on the New York Stock Exchange on April 9. The deal, expected to close in the third or fourth quarter, is valued at $1.5 billion including the assumption of debt.
DynCorp, which helps train Iraqi police and supports the U.S.’s operation of military bases, is at least the fifth government-services investment that Cerberus has made since 2000, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Cerberus owns government contractors including IAP Worldwide Services Inc., Tier 1 Group and Radia Holdings Inc.

Cerberus has been buying gun manufacturers also during the Chrysler charade!

Govt. run motors., Hmmm!?!

NEW YORK, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management [CBS.UL] is in advanced preparations to take rifle and ammunition maker Freedom Group Inc public, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Cerberus has rolled at least seven U.S. gun-and-ammunition makers into Freedom over the last three years, creating a company that is on pace for nearly $1 billion in sales this year, the Journal reported, citing a person familiar with the company's results.

The rifle and ammunition companies Cerberus has acquired for Freedom include Remington Arms Co, Bushmaster Firearms, Cobb Manufacturing, Marlin Firearms, Dakota Arms LLC and DPMS Panther Arms, according to the report.

A Cerberus spokesman declined to comment. (Reporting by Michael Erman)

So Cerberus buying a human slavery/smuggling corporation eh?

So it will be easier to make the Dyncorp scandals go away since people won't know it will be hidden behind Cerberus name...
