The articles referred to in the OP is very light on info. They observed 6 nuclei which decayed after a short period of time... Nothing
earth-shattering...
If the "stable" super-heavy nuclei existed, we'd presumably detect some quantity of these metals like we observe Uranium. If "stable" means
anything here, it means "relatively stable", which in turn means you can't really rely on the chemical properties of these elements to achieve any
useful goal.
