States sell Capital Bldgs to pay bills

California & Arizona to sell state owned buildings

Twenty four buildings belonging to California State are to be sold to the
private investors with intent to be leased back. The drive behind this move is
to gain some much needed cash to pay off some of the State’s debt. It is
projected that through this transaction state will generate over 2.billion in
much needed cash. One of the buildings and the largest is the Ronald Reagan
State Building in downtown Los Angeles.

state hospital and state prisons -- go on sale today as the financially pressed
state tries to raise money to plug a $4.5 billion deficit.

I believe this is Unconstitutional. Seeing how we(the people) own the state buildings. Ahh, who cares about that pesky constitution we spent ourselves into oblivion and now we have to get out of it.

I doubt anybody will challenge it though, lots of people don't even know what the constitution even says.

Thanks for letting us know, this is my home state and it sure is in quite a state ! Locally, right now, they are offering visas to get our roads fixed.
This kind of sale of public buildings was reported some years ago. I was upset about it, and tried to share the info with friends and acquaintances, but they had little interest. Glad to see your post.
I bet if the public knew how many of our famous landmarks and public buildings and shopping centers are foreign-owned they would listen.
