US military plotted revenge on Wikileaks

news.techworld.com

The US military was so fearful of classified information ending up on Wikileaks it considered ways to undermine the organisation, a newly published secret report on the site appears to show.

In an ironic twist, Wikileaks has now published what appears to be an assessment of the site and the danger is poses to US military confidentiality, apparently from the US Army and Counterintelligence center and dated 18 March 2008.

"The governments of China, Israel, North Korea, Russia, Thailand, Zimbabwe, and several other countries have blocked access to Wikileaks.org-type Web sites, claimed they have the right to investigate and prosecute Wikileaks.org and associated whistleblowers, or insisted they remove false, sensitive, or classified government information, propaganda, or malicious content from the Internet," says the report.

Our governments have jointly declared war on their worst threat: the internet. I have seen this coming for some time, but the process of bringing restriction onto the internet seems to be speeding up.

Until internet was widely used, one-sided communication such as TV and telegraphs provided our news and offered a very effective way of controlling people. People are not supposed to think for themselves. This is exactly why internet forms such a threat to the ruling powers: it enables two-sided communication on a world wide level, it allows to share and discuss news instantly and worst of all: it facilitates the exposure of conspiracies and other dirty secrets they don't want us to know.

One can only guess, but I am convinced that Internet is widely discussed within the Pentagon - the fact that they considered to undermine Wikileaks confirms this assumption.

Take 911 for instance. Without the internet, there would very likely no, to very little, support for its conspiracy. People would all consider it to be nonsense. The number of people - with various social backgrounds - whom know question 911 is very significant. This is a direct consequence of the internet.

It limits their mobility to commit crimes unseen. For that very reason, Rockefeller called the internet the “Number One National Hazard”

Alternative news is not appreciated as it often contradicts the official story - it works inciting and could instigate rebellious sentiment.
