I am about to get off work for a few days, some friends of mine from up north have heard the stories about Corpsewood Manor and are wanting me to take them up there, it is only about 30 min from my house. Just to familiarize you with Corpsewood, it is located in North Ga, it was a mansion built by an eccentric doctor with ties to Anton Levay, he studied in Chicago and worked on a project using '___'25. He and his friend/lover bought the 40 acres that the manor sits on and built a house and lived with no power, running water, ect, rejecting all modern amenities and such. They were murdered in their home by some locals they had befriended, with a supposed motive of robbery. As a local myself I have heard there are other reasons the murder took place, including that the law around there wanted them gone. Beleive me they would not be the 1st two murders in that area under those premises. If you want to know more about Corpsewood check out this link, it has pictures.

Anyway, I was all pumped up to take them up there, and now I have a very bad feeling about it, I am thinking about driving them up to the road and letting them walk the rest of the way, I wish I could talk them out of it altogether. I was wondering if any of you ATSer's have been there or would go there? Am I being silly, or should I set aside my feelings of doom about it and go?
edit to add: I am adding this information about Dr Scudder and possible involvement with the MKULTRA program, at the time of his murder it is stated that a 'lifetime' supply of '___' 25 was found in the home, Dr Scudder's history with Loyola University doesn't cover this discovery, and '___' 25 grade is what was used by CIA directives.

Been there.

I wouldn't recommend going unless you don't mind being bored or if you can easily scare yourself.

Hell I'd go there just so I can say I've been to a place called "Corpsewood Manor". That's so death metal.

With a name like Corpsewood manor I don't blame you for having doubts.

It could just be an overhyped old place with nothing of any significance......

or, .... it could be your TOMB !!!!!

either way, theres only one way to find out, ..... you should take a camera !

Alright, now I am reading more about Corpsewood and have come across information that the Dr may have been associated with the MKULTRA or brainwashing CIA programs, I am going to try to find out more about this, why it is even mentioned!

edit to add: found this article from 1963, apparently he did have some doings with drug experiements in the 60's, haven't found '___'25 yet, but this article doesn't say what drugs they are using.

If you do go, make sure that you write every second of your trip, even as you are being consumed by nameless horrors.

-- I was trying to find the page on TV Tropes which talks about that phenomenon (where narrators of Cosmic Horror tend to continue apparently writing even up to the moment of their horrible, unthinkable death), but I failed. So the joke may fall flat but I spent so much time on it that I have to make the weak version!

Quite honestly my heart is racing just from reading about Corpsewood! The more I read the more intriguing it is though.

I went during the day. Its not a place I am so familiar with that I would go romping around during the night.

Sounds as if you can scare yourself fairly easy, so you will have a great time. To get the full effect you should watch the blair witch project before you go.

We had a sanctioned investigation and we found nothing active. There were quite a few risidual elemens picked up on though. As of 2 years ago there was nothing there that would hurt ya. The most interesting things we got were in the room above the chicken house. The Pink Room. Do some EVP work in there. Hopefully you'll have a nice thunderstorm while you are there. Good luck!

Edit to add:
That is crazy that the house that you are writing about is in the GA. The house that I lived in below was right in Brookhaven in the ATL.
Because of the Native American burial site, it is illegal to develop it, so the house just sits right next to it. Anyway...

I used to live in a house that people told me was haunted.
I do not have an opinion on what it was, but I will relate my story to you.

I was in my early 20's and I moved into a house with my then girlfriend. The bedroom that was mine never had anyone come near it.
One girl that spent the night in that room removed herself out of the bed and left, and then refused to ever come back to the house.

It was a time in my life when I was pretty heavy into witchcraft.
I wasn't really taking it as seriously as I should have, but anytime one conjures the sephiroth then strange happenings are sure to follow.

We would have lights turn on in rooms when no one had been in the room and we were gone.

We would wake up in the middle of the night with the heat on full blast and we both knew that we turned it off.

The original owners of the house were mad afraid of the end of the world and the basement was built as a bomb shelter.
They lived there for 50 years.
Before that it was a for real Native American burial site.
It is in straight up down town Atlanta. Prime real estate. 5 acres with a two bedroom house that NO ONE will rent.

The basement was really bizarre.
At first, we were going to "grow" some "food" down there, but it was sooooooooo freaky.

It had a trap door leading to an entrance in the floor, but it had been boarded up.
The lights would come on ALL the time with no one down in the basement.

We were obsessed with the "supernatural" at the time. It was the first time that I had encountered the idea of the "illuminati".

We had many a sceance with a ouija board while we were on '___' and the couch randomly caught on fire during one of the ceremonies.

And we weren't near it. No one was within 5 feet of the couch or a candle. And they were not near one another.

The board consistently made predictions that came true years and years later.
Dead true. Scary true. To this day.

We eventually got so freaked that we split.
We packed up in less than a day and then left and told no one.

What put us over the edge was that...
We kept hearing people walk to the front door and we would answer and no one would be there. Like 5 times a night. For like a month.

When I first got into witchcraft, I thought it was so cool to say stuff like "In dei nomine satanas luciferis excelsis" when I would have sex with my girlfriend (weird I know, but this seemed like an appropriate thread. I am not condoning it)
(in the name of satan I command you to rise is what that means btw...)

But just like Aleister Crowley said:

In this book it is spoken of the Sephiroth and the Paths; of Spirits and Conjurations; of Gods, Spheres, Planes, and many other things which may or may not exist. It is immaterial whether these exist or not. By doing certain things certain results will follow; students are most earnestly warned against attributing objective reality or philosophic validity to any of them." — Aleister Crowley (Magick in Theory and Practice)

One thing that comes to mind with this thread is that the ptb must use places like this in rituals and other things.

I would suggest giving its history maybe this is a place where rituals may have taken place.

Funny you would mention that, as Bill Clinton is a regular visitor to this little bitty city, he visits an attorney there, the same attorney that the character of Matlock is based on.

I lost that long post. Darn tiny netbook.

I have been there many, many times. I have slept there. I find it to be peaceful myself. It's a long story. I know at least one of the 'hauntings' was actually just me up there and that I scared the crap out of a group that walked up Deadhorse road. I always kept my car up around back, it was closer if you know the way.

When I was 12,maybe 13? my father took me up right after the murders when the investigation was still going on.

They were digging, it was a weekend I believe, Sunday after the murders.
Anyway, there was the pink room with porn scattered everywhere. A LOT OF IT was HETEROsexual porn. I remember this, lol, because I stuffed what I could in my jacket.

Anyway, there was the pink room, and there was a lot of porn, and to get upstairs, I had to crawl up a drum barrell. There was a mattress up there, and more scattered porn. I found in some of it, a couple of polaroids of local guys.

I went outside, they had a refrigerator sunk in the ground, and somewhere close to that, I found a photo album that struck me even then as strange. It was polaroid after polaroid of young men, say 15-21? About that age. I'm not sure, older teens it looked like. Even to me, it didn't look right - it looked like a collection. That's what I thought at the time, maybe they were collecting boys for something.

There were pictures of each young man standing in front of a tree. Other pictures were of young men nude, in front of the same tree, but they were not sexual pictures - IE they might be standing there with their hands crossed in front of their privates. I could mainly see chests. In these pictures, some of them looked high.

Yep. I think it was mk-ultra. I've said so before but someone always wanted to challenge me or somehow cast some doubts about how I'd know this or that, like to try to discredit me about it.

It became a party place for us after that, and yep, the group I hung with was definitely not fluffy bunny unicorn.

I've mellowed with age.

BTW, Albert C. Palmer did have a lot of the furnishings. He had the bed, I know.
I believe, but am not sure, that he may have bought the harp too.

Some say oh bad things will happen to you if you take something from there. Uh, no.
It's a peaceful place.
