The press conference (held on 11 January 1969) was organised by Major Donald E. Keyhoe (U.S. Marine Corps), Director of the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena.

The speakers are (in order of appearance): Richard H. Hall, Assistant Director, National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena; Donald E. Keyhoe and James E. McDonald, physicist and UFO researcher.

Still learning the "who's who" of ufology, despite having been interested for most of my life. It seems every time I find someone"credible" they soon become ostracized from the field for one mistake. Will be watching the video tonight. Thanks.

Only 30 min in, havent read any of the other posts, just my comments so far:

I would not call this a great video/presentation by any means. Maybe I just have a bias against quivering voices who say "next, please." all the time. but she is an awful public speaker in my opinion. She is doing the information a horrible injustice, she and the horrible combination of "camera" person and the...forgot the term.. person controlling the ancient egyptian "projector" shes got.
Ill post my sober and full video review in a day or so.

Seems to be because most of them find one aspect to nag about yet ignore the big picture. Like everyone in ufology is in it to profit on lies. Except paranormal subjects this is the only field of research which is treated this way. Like making a living or writing books is a crime.. they're not consequential with this, the thought of doing the same thing to some psychologist writing a book would be ridiculous. Yet this is one of those blanket "debunkings" that people can use to justify their continued ignorance. There is more than enough evidence to merit serious investigation.

A deeper probe will reveal a subject that boggles the mind of most rational people, ask Vallée about the control system. Investigation and obviousness itself reveals that the military had a serious interest in the subject since day one. To think that they haven't gotten anywhere with all the resources and power that they have at their disposal is very implausible and defies belief. UFO's nonchalantly buzzed Capitol Hill like it was nothing. If the Russians did that people would be screaming from the rooftops yet here a squadron of craft from an unknown power demonstrating superior technology penetrates our airspace and flies over one of the most iconic buildings in the public mind. Almost like something out of Hollywood. And these total shills want us to believe that the military and the intelligence agencies had no interest in such a huge threat to national security? A kid should be able to figure this stuff out and probably would, it's that obvious. He hasn't been conditioned to regard the subject with apathetic indifference and flaccid skepticism.

Thanks for the replies - as the speaker in this very interesting vid about the Farmington UFOs of 1950 mentions 'If the University of Arizona hadn't preserved Dr James McDonald's research then half of the material in this presentation would not be known about'.

'UFO Reports Throttled by CIA, Physicist Says' – 10/09/1966:

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency has ordered the Air Force to debunk stories on Unidentified Flying Objects, a University of Arizona physicist charges.

Dr. James E. McDonald, senior physicist at the UA Institute of Atmospheric Physics, said the hush-hush policy has throttled any scientific investigation of the objects.

He said there is reason to believe some of the objects may carry persons from outer-space on reconnaissance missions over earth..

Ufologist Ann Druffel Dies


UFO researcher and author Ann Druffel dates her interest in the UFO question from 1945 when, as a schoolgirl, she viewed a bright yellowish object, very high in clear blue skies over Long Beach, California. She and her mother, Aileen Walsh McElroy, watched the object as it slowly traveled westerly. After about an hour and one-half, having traveled about 30 degrees from the NNE to the NNW, it then released 15-20 smaller shiny objects, which took varying paths out and away from the main object. Years later, it was determined that this sighting occurred at about the same time the first experimental atom bomb was exploded in New Mexico..

She was one of the first investigators for NICAP, remaining with that organization from April 1957 to 1973. During the NICAP years she became acquainted with the renowned atmospheric physicist, Dr. James E. McDonald, and participated with him in several UFO cases during his six years of UFO research. After NICAP was destroyed by subversive agents from the FBI and CIA who had secretly penetrated into the higher realms of NICAP, Druffel joined the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) with which she is still actively associated as investigator, frequent contributor to their journals and other official capacities..

One of her recent books, FIRESTORM!: DR. JAMES E. McDONALD's FIGHT FOR UFO SCIENCE, published in July 2003 by "Wild Flower Press/Granite Publications", re-introduced the phenomenal UFO research and amazing results of prestigious atmospheric physicist, James E. McDonald, to the world. The astounding gains McDonald made, during his public work in the UFO field between 1966 and 1971, today give us undeniable evidence that the scientifically-oriented approach is necessary to solve the UFO problem. It details how McDonald made great strides in convincing the Scientific Community at large that UFOs were a real phenomenon which was being neglected by Science and also how he apparently was at the verge of breaking through the government coverup. Tragically, McDonald's breakthroughs were unexpectedly cut short in 1971 when he died an apparent suicide, but FIRESTORM! relives his work and methods which, if put into effect today in the UFO field, could perhaps bring about a solution.
