Wow I'd never heard of Emerson before. I carefully read through the link you posted and I can't help but agree with you. This man surely was a genius. I'm going to keep rereading it because I feel this is something that needs to really sink in, sort of make it my own. I'll try to find more of his work online, after checking out wikipedia and others, it seems he's written several other interesting essays along with some famous speeches even!
