Well, this liberal agrees with him fully. We need to stop expanding our vision...the rest of the world will either get the government they deserve, or rise up individually and attain whatever it is they want..

in america, about 230 years ago the people got together and stood up for what we wanted here...it was a bloody knock down, drag out fight, but in the end, it is our greatest accomplishment and the thing that 200+ years later we have great pride in. Yes, we got help from the french, but the majority of the movement was our movement.

Why would we even want to rob the rest of the world of that...democracy is earned, not entitled.

I do disagree with his last statement about how he added in the welfare state. simply put, if we ended all our wars (big and small) and spent a fraction of the cost back here at home, all citizens would have the necessities (health care, food, shelter, dignity)...and the capitalism would kick in for the extras people enjoy (the 4 cars, mansion on the beach upgrade, etc).

Seems a nation has a choice...have a poor country with a inflated military, or have a very minimal defensive military and a thriving civilization. I prefer the second version.
