"Wormholes allowed by current physical theories might arise spontaneously, but would vanish nearly instantaneously, and would likely be undetectable." - Wikipedia

Based on the current theories of wormholes, would it be theoretically possible, or at least plausible, to consider a spaceship technology to scan for wormholes?

Although they are likely undetectable, that seems to be because they vanish nearly instantaneously. It's said that the use of exotic mater could make a wormhole stable.

Now, suppose a spaceship emits a wave in all directions that carries with it exotic mater. Any wormholes airsing at the time that are hit by the wave of exotic mater would then become stable. Then the spaceship scan would detect which wormholes are stable and where they localted. Does that sound possible/plausible theoretically/hypothetically?

If so, would you also think it possible for the spaceship computer to calculate the destination of each wormhole?

Why would exotic matter react with a wormhole? How would the ship transmit a wave of exotic matter in all directions? Where is the source for this exotic matter?

Since Dark Energy(exotic matter) is what makes wormholes stable, I am assuming that if Dark Energy enters a wormhole in enough quantity, it would cause that effect.

Since Dark Energy is still nothing but theory, I am also assuming we could handle it that way, the same way we can handle other kinds of *energies*

Where is the source for this exotic matter?

Well, unless we can create Dark Energy, we would have to *harvest/gather* it...somehow...
