Diversity Visa Lottery Poses National Security Risk

Not sure if this is a great idea or not, but I also can't think of a more fair way to allow immigrants, legally, into the United States.

The State Department is planning to welcome thousands of immigrants from terror-watch list countries into the United States this year through a “diversity visa” lottery a giant legal loophole some lawmakers say is a “serious national security threat” that has gone unchecked for years.

There is a current waitlist of over 3.5 million people waiting to come to the United States, many of which reside in "terror-prone" nations.

I wonder of those selected through the "diversity visa" program, if they all undergo significant background checks.
