JERUSALEM -An Israeli military delegation has canceled an official visit to Britain, officials said Tuesday, the latest in a string of politicians and army officials to put off travel to the U.K. because of fears of war crimes prosecution.

Israel complained that the practice, spearheaded by pro-Palestinian activists, is harming relations, and Britain's visiting attorney general said an urgent solution must be found.

The Israelis called off their trip because their British army hosts could not guarantee they would not be arrested, the Israeli officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. Neither the Israeli military nor the British government would comment.

AOL News

Now this is great news. Would be great to actually someday see these criminals get arrested in public and brought to justice. Well done Britain! They should be afraid of being arrested every time they step one foot out of their own(?) land!

Yep, Great News alright. The UK no longer has control of it's own internal affairs... Now your rulers in Black Dresses and Wigs (do they still wear those silly wigs?) run the nations policy and are guided by special interest minority groups who seem to be able to get away with usurping your country via "legal" means. Man... if old "Adolf" only knew that he didn't have to build and army and invade, he only needed to send a few million German immigrants in to make "special" laws for themselves and scream discrimination and they could have taken over without firing a shot. Bet he would be rolling over in his grave if he knew how simple it would have been to do.... well maybe not, back then the population would not accept such idiocy.

So, what happens when the UK start arresting official delegations from other nations.... Why not go after ... say... the U.S. Military commanders based there! That is a great idea! On the same day, go arrest some Russians coming out of their Embassy for crimes in Afghanistan and Chechnya!

It is silly. You don't go "hunting" someone until those "charges" are filed. Where are these "war crimes" charges? Where are the warrants (issued by the war crimes tribunal)?

Does the UK now make up due process as they go along Dictated by the men in black dresses and wigs (sounds funny doesn't it?). At least the USA classified terrorist as "enemy combatants" and was done legally by ELECTED officials. What is the classification for foreign delegates in the UK today?

It's a damn shame we don't deal with people when they come here for UN meetings. Seems we could save ourselves alot of problems.

What an incredably condacending and ignorant post.

Firstly, Judges don't wear "black dresses". Go look it up.

And yes, the Judges take the Law and interpret it. It's part of the split between the executive, the legislative and the judicial branches of Government. The USA (and almost every democratic Government around) follows the same practice.

As for the Jurisdiction question, if you step foot on British soil and have been accused of a crime in another land, providing there is sufficient evidence to warrant an investigation, an arrest warrant will be issued.

Whether it be a Palestinian group or a woman claiming you raped her in Zambia, if you make a complaint about a person then that person IS going to be questioned.

You'd expect nothing less, no? Or are crimes only investigated based upon what race the accused and accuser are now? If they're the wrong "type" of accuser, then the accused is to be left alone? Don't be so daft.

Oh, you're analogies to arresting US or Russian embassy staff are also ignorant. They'd be protected as diplomats.

If they came without a diplomatic visa however, then they can be arrested for alledged crimes, wherever they may have been perpetrated and irregardless who they are.

I think somebody should go to Israel and kidnap the war criminals and take them to Europe to file charges and put them on trial. Israeli Mossad agents have kidnapped people from other countries numerous times. I think they should get a taste of their own medicine.
