Over the course of a lifetime, it seems that hope is what keeps people afloat. We hope for health. We hope for wealth. We hope for happiness.
Even primitive man from times past has existed with the daily hope of finding something edible or finding a place to shelter for the night.
What happens when a person has lost all hope? They turn to suicide. But even that is probably done with the hope that present suffering will end
maybe a second chance at something better will be granted.
Is hope our driving force or is a baser survival instinct our driving force?
