A downtown protest of the climate change talks in Copenhagen became a victim of Wednesday's snowstorm. "Not many people showed up because of the blizzard conditions," said organizer Clea Major, an international studies student at the University of Utah. It didn't take long for the six friends to pack up a bullhorn and posters they'd planned to use for their "scream-in," an outlet for their frustration about the failure of the Copenhagen climate talks earlier this month to curb the pollution blamed for climate change. Still, they chatted with a few passers-by during the commuter-hour protest near the Gateway, and explained that, blizzard aside, climate change is expected to bring chaos to the global climate, said Major. She called Wednesday evening's effort a success and possibly the first in a series. As for the snow, it's not entirely new; a protest she attended last year in Washington, D.C., suffered a similar fate. "There is always the irony element," Major said.

Irony is so.......ironic.

Speaking of,

No Rise of Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Fraction in Past 160 Years, New Research Finds

ScienceDaily (Dec. 31, 2009)

www.sciencedaily.com...

In contradiction to some recent studies, he finds that the airborne fraction of carbon dioxide has not increased either during the past 150 years or during the most recent five decades.

The research is published in Geophysical Research Letters.

Someone should tell them.

God does have a sense of humor!

It never fails....hold a Global Warming rally, and you are sure to get a freak cold spell.

And what kills me is the blind ignorance being displayed here by this person. Alas, another student being brainwashed into buying into something that is still being logically debated. For her to shrug off the facts that temps have been down significantly in the U.S. and so on is a bit sad for these believers in 'climate change'.

Wait! I believe in climate change too! Just the kind that happens no matter what we do! You know, the natural process of the evolution of this planet!

Granted, so I can staive off the attacks now, we need to work to clean up our messes we have made (wastes in water supplies, dumps, ect.) but our little gnat selves have NOT impacted the weather patterns of this planet.

Then again, there is always HARP.

I don't know though; take a look...

"As the city is in the path of Atlantic low-pressure systems, Copenhagen experiences unstable and changing weather patterns in all four seasons, as well as temperatures about 5 degrees higher than average for its latitude worldwide. (about 55 Degrees North). The main reason for this warmth is the Atlantic Gulf Stream, which pushes warm water from around the Sargasso towards the northwest, and the low-pressure systems follow with the oceanic stream."

en.wikipedia.org...

Seems to me it was a set up having it there in the first place.

There you go again. Interjecting logic into the global warming discussion. That is just not acceptable!

It is refreshing to see another with the viewpoint that, yes, we need to make some changes to our poluting practices. But, let's not fabricate doomsday scenarios in order to frighten people into contributing to the wealth of a few people.

Star for you!

Greatings, I wonder if there will ever be an answer to the question, 'how can such as small amount of CO2 (%0.004) in the atmosphere have such a huge effect on the other %99.006?? of gasses, such as oxygen and Nitrogen, the two main gas components.

This is just the latest example of The Gore Effect.

Is That the same Atlantic Gulf Stream that shuts of from melt water if the planet gets too hot and creates an Ice Age?
