Scientist "Pressured" To Defend Climate Research.

Britain's Met Office has embarked on an urgent exercise to bolster the reputation of climate-change science after the furor over leaked e-mails, referred to as "Climate-gate."

More than 1,700 scientists have agreed to sign a statement defending the "professional integrity" of global warming research. They were responding to a round-robin request from the Met Office....

One scientist said that he felt under pressure to sign the circular or risk losing work.

So the very same group of individuals associated with the leaked e-mails, now suddenly finds it prudent to essentially knock door-to-door in obtaining petition signatures? Yet, how exactly will these signatures excuse the years of intentional fraud, and blatant data manipulation, which happened to recently be exposed?

Also, how dare the MET Chief Executive John Hirst now come out and accuse others of an "Attack to discredit us and the science of climate change", when they are the ones who discredited their own organization through lies and deception!

On top of all of that, the MET Office admits that most of the signers of the "Defense Document" are not even in related fields (Which in of itself is not necessarily discredit worthy). Most damning though, is the fact that a scientist also states that he felt pressured to sign, simply due to the reality that the MET only issues grants and employment for those who agree with their pre-conceived agenda(s).

How many more individuals need to come out with statements such as these (Along with data exposing cover-ups and ulterior motives) before people finally realize just how corrupted this all has become? This is beyond indefensible, as this is an affront to all notions of common sense, logic, honesty, and integrity.

Global Warming was predicated 150 years ago before CO2 was even a problem. They didn't use climate records, they used scientific logic to predict it.

The reason GW is still an issue today is because nobody could disprove it for 150 years... I don't think it will happen this year either.

As for all the political b.s. that is causing people to deny GW after 150 years.... all I can say is... people are easily brainwashed, convinced, and manipulated to believe things that are false, and ignore things that are true, and have always been true.

There is little doubt that there is something going on with global weather patterns. And if left to science alone to investigate, humanity might stand a chance of discovering what it is and perhaps even doing something about it.

But the climate (no pun intended) has become charged politically and when this happens to anything, good intention goes out the door and is replaced by partisan rhetoric and back biting.

Politics may or may not be man's greatest sin. It is responsible for most human suffering, including wars. But it is without a doubt hurting the effort to understand what climate change is genuine and why it is happening.

So long as the politicians run this show, there will be no consensus and therefore, no solution that will be beyond doubt or corruption.

Yeah and you'll know what will happen to those ``unbiased scientists`` if they do not sign this... NO RESEARCH GRANTS FOR YOU.

I'm pretty sure lots of those scientists prefer lying rather than lose their job... we all know how scientists are in college and how they change after... When your young, you have principles... but later in life, most people just give up on those and sell out.

This is a big case of that.

Global warming, if it's happening, is not caused by humans. Even if it was caused by humans, I won't listen to their BS until they come up with a REAL SOLUTION, not all the SLAVERY AND WORLD GOVERNMENT they say is the only solution.

And this whole thing is a scam and protecting the real polluters who are dumping toxic stuff in the oceans, killing rare species, ect...

Global warming is the new religion of the western world. Like in the dark ages all who speak against it will be threatened and figuratively burnt at the stake. The more things change the more they stay the same. Whether you are being taxed because of the religious dogma of divine right or "scientific" dogma of climate change your still being taxed based on a belief and threat of damnation. Any true scientist would not want to supress the speech or the opinions of others.
