it certainly is a very active region. every day there are numerous quakes here and from time to time there are "earthquake swarms"

from 17th August 2009 -

Earthquake Activity Ramps Up at Puerto Rico Subduction Zone

A significant escalation is occurring at the Puerto Rico Subduction Zone. A swarm of quakes continue with close to one hundred quakes in just the last three days

It says when the quakes start to pick up to mag 3-4 then it gets serious and theres high risk of a bigger one.

thanks for the links just thought it was odd, have not seen that many there before seems to be ongoing every couple of years there's big swarms there

i certainly wouldnt want a beachfront property there thats for sure. With all the activity, you would think somethings gotta give sooner or later.

yeah me neither man that would not be fun, we had a 4.6 here in 2003, its the only one i've experienced and it sucked
