Bushfire turns Steve Irwin land into 'animal graveyard'

Neighbouring land owners of the far north Queensland Cape York wilderness, named the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, are blaming mismanagement of the property for allowing the bushfire to take hold, Woman's Day magazine reports.
The land, about 400 times the size of Sydney's CBD, was gifted to Terri Irwin by the Federal Government.
Local grazier and neighbour Cameron Quartermaine told Woman's Day Ms Irwin has no one but herself to blame for the blaze.

Why the Australian federal government gave this land to the Irwin's is still a complete puzzle , some great Wildlife Warriors this lot are! after this fire having already killed many threatened species that Steve campaigned to protect!

This incident comes a few months after Terri Irwin approved to build 31 dams and quadruple the number of cattle grazing on a remote eco zone set up to honour her dead husband. Source

At the time Terri Irwin said: "This magnificent gesture by the Australian Government will allow us to actively manage this land for conservation and research, as a perpetual memorial to Steve's work."

My 2cents is that the Irwin's have cleared some land for these dams and had a burn off which has started this inferno

I'd also look into that land being disputed with that huge mining company, Terry is battling them in court to stop the mining from going ahead...sabotage maybe?
