An old one..

Dawn in my mind.

Lost and alone I grew cold,
Darkness wrapped around me,
Each step in fear of death,
I bled emotions in the silence.

There was yet a pale light ahead,
And voices, friends, calling my name,
I stumbled and crawled forward,
Making headway then sliding back.

A flickering lamp to light my way,
Dawn approaching slowly in my mind.
The sounds of friends grew nearer,
The words they spoke became clearer.

Through a mist of bitter tears
I watched the darkness fade behind,
Icy fingers still reaching out,
I walked into the new beginning.

The pain has dulled as helping hands,
Heal the wounds and speak softly,
Time will heal and emotions renew,
Life continues along my road.

I can't "edit" my post above? or am I not looking in the right area?

You only have 2 hours to edit something (I think). After that, the edit button disappears.

However, I can edit something in the poem if you like.

Beautiful expression. Pain is always the journey of the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you, the light at the end of the tunnel is just a change in perception, the journey continues hopefully with increased clarity.
