Ok,

my RMA'd Asus P5Q came back to me.
Actually it is a different board, by serial number.
It also has the newest bios.

I put back my my cards and ram.

I put in my freezone elite water cooler.

All this in my cooler-master HAF case.

My cpu's are all under 30C@ idle.
My coolant is @ 23C
(This with room temp of 88F)
You see, water coolings major advantage comes in load cooling, not so much idle cooling.
(stock cooling@idle is high 30's to low 40's for reference).

I am soon to be over-clocking her, nothing big, just to 3.5 or 3.6 gig.

When I built my new machine a few months ago I had the same issue; Bad RAM slot on the board as well as a stick of bad RAM.

I have an EVGA nForce 750i
4 Gigs of Muskin DDR2 1066

Ever since RMA on both items my machine has been great (other than Vista hogging 50% of my memory when idle)

I cannot wait to get it. I should have stayed with XP when building my machine but hey, lesson learned with Vista

Glad your rig is working out

Ok, I finally got my new copy of hellgate london.
(:pbjtime

I game in direct x 9 (dx10 is just a bit too hard on my vid card) with everything maxed out.

After an hour or so of gaming, none of the cores (4) went up to even 40C
(I had logging on)

Now thats a great gaming temp.

Like I have said before, water cooling is not for idle temps, it is for load temps.

I pondered over water cooling,
But I dunno.. im not into overclocking or cooking.
To be honest, I play a game for say, 30minutes and im bored.

plus the idea of water running through my $2000 system just doesnt sit right.
Hey even a waterbed leaks! ;o)

play battlefield much?

Im running Vista, Its ok, I find i can install it one day its great, but i install it the next its chunky and full of various issues.

I dont bother with the updates, thats just asking for trouble, although im hearing a lot of reports on 7 being problematic.

Its a pitty todays games dont run on 3.1 or 'quick menu', now THAT was a system

well , after running a game on maxed everything, the cpu temps never hit 40C, thats what water cooling will do for you.

Water isn't for impressive idle temps, it is for impressive load temps.
(A 9650 processor @3 gigs gaming for 1 hour and under 40C, YEAH!)

Also, I have found win 7 to be extremely stable.
