I've just been on the NSA website (www.nsa.gov) and it would seem that both the HTML and Flash versions of the site return an Error number 6 when tried to access.

Error Occurred While Processing Request
Error Diagnostic Information
A problem was encountered trying to access the system registry. Error number 6 occurred.

Anyone know why an agency that's supposed to be top of the line at this type of thing could have an error like this? I saw it five minutes ago first and its now 23:50 GMT, May 9th, 2004, Sunday, just in case any readers are wondering

I asked someone to try it and they got the same error message, so I guess all the different tries on different computers rules out the possibility of it being just me. Since I first found it, it's been down about 25 minutes now.

Maybe they neglected to update their virus protection.

It really could be something innocent like maintenance?

Well yeah, it could be, but I don't see how that could happen, considering that the NSA's supposed to have the best computer systems and stuff.

Yeah, maybe that instead of spending bucks on a snazzy flash intro, they could have bought reliable hardware or a better web-server software... Or hired people to do maintenance... Those damn NSA guys...

lol. I've got to result in thinking that it was planned; but at the same time I really doubt that's possible.

Edit: It's actually quite ironic, because just before I found the site down I found the term No Such Agency for the NSA lol, which I guess is kinda true now
even if it is only in terms of their website.

I guess the site's back up now, but I'm going to see if I can find any information on what happened.
