Justice...It's A Son Of A Gun...

So this is a relatively new forum. Global "Meltdown." But has anyone pondered what that phrase really means?

There are a few themes that work really well in modern society. 1. Currency. Its hard to imagine an America without the dollar. No commerce. No compensation for the small menial tasks some of us do on a daily basis or for the large roles some of us play within society. Just this fact alone would break society down to its primordial tendencies. 2. Goverment. Some of you may be thinking..whaaaaa!!??? Yes, goverment. While I personally believe government should be limited (you can consider me libertarian with a little "L") I am no anarchist. Government plays a pivitol role in modern society. I believe without its regulatory guidelines in such topics as commerce (money), building codes, health permits amongst many others we would not have the advances most of us seem to enjoy on a daily basis. 3. The third and most difficult and important theme (in my opinion) in society today...Justice.

If any of these three themes were to be taken away, I think it would be fair to say we would see some sort of collapse of modern civilization. Though two of them may be able to be substitued in some way or another. That is money and government. These themes can and have been altered many times throughout history. From theocracies to monarchys to republics and socialisms to communism and democracy there are many versions of government. From shells, to precious stone, to bartering to gold and fiat money, we also have many forms of currency. There could be a time where these two major role playing themes come to a boiling point and some intrinsic value of each one individually may have to be altered to keep society from turning into those two words at the top of this page.."Global Meltdown." I couldnt even begin to really tell you what those changes may be or not, that will have to be up to some other time and some other discussion.

So as the title of this thread indicates, justice is the one shining light that happens to be the most important and the most consistant, the blood that runs through the veins of America and surely our worldy brothers and sisters. This one can never be thrown to the side. This theme props up the other two. It can never bend from the weight of the other two. It is the backbone of money and government and modern societal structure. It must prevail under all circumstances. It is the common and poor mans trojan horse.

It is also the most difficult to uphold. The fight for it is a never ending battle. The battle between those that deserve it and those who wish to squash it. Those that fight for it and those that lie for it. There are those who wish to manipulate it for their own personal gain. Then there are those who hide from it like it is a game. For those of us standing on the sidelines, it would seem to be a fight where both teams are wearing the same jersey, multiple balls are being used and their is only one goal. 90% of the time he haven't a clue what is going on or even who is winning. And It looks like some of the players are switching sides at a rapid pace.

In other words, it is rarely a cut and dry case of black and white. Right and wrong. Good guy vs. bad guy. This is nothing new here though, folks. We are all well aware of our situation in the world and how little justice is actually prevailing. Americans know sometimes we are on the wrong side. What we have to do is stay on top of this game. We owe it to the constitution and the founding fathers, and most importantly we owe it to our children and our inheritors.

Sometimes it is just important to remember what is important. Surely we all have our guideing principles. So even though each of us may not have an impact on worldly affairs and the justice the leaders administer, it is equally important to make sure the principles of justice prevail in each instance of our lives. Global meltdown is dependant on our indecision and actions out of accordance with justice.

While I have absolutely no conflict with the post or your conclusions because it's correct, I have no trust in our world populace or human nature. Our own realizations of the problems usually end up being used to cause more problems not fix them! Sad commentary on the human race ain't it!

Understandable. Thats why the op was more about our individual responses to injustices we see on a daily basis. While we cant change anything not within our own reach, it is important for us to remember what our role each of us play in society, and how important it is for us to be fair and share the common value of justice.

just to throw it out there. What inspired the op was Batman the Dark Knight. Killer movie. I never was a comic book reader growing up, but I have come to thoroughly enjoy the new batman movies...I thought the message behind it was excellent!
