Krypton's Karma

eclecticcommons.telldat.net

In Greek, Krypton means “hidden one” or “hidden thing”. Perhaps this reference to the planet was more than a myth created by two writers in the 1930’s, destroyed by a thermonuclear chain reaction in its uranium core. It’s possible Krypton existed, under another name, without any survivors. A mystery suggesting more complex factors at work led to the destruction of what was popularly thought to be a star system created from the imagination of Siegel and Shuster.

This article was based on several reports from unidentified sources in the US government about the discovery of several alien tablets discovered in the southern most continent during the nineteen-forties, transported to Roswell New Mexico for investigative study. A conclave of scientists was said to have been selected to examine the marked etchings. No conclusive evidence could be found, but several hypothesis were set forth to explain the events that led to the destruction of the mythological planet known as Krypton. Much of the information remains "classified"

I read this, and found the story too full of holes to be feasible.
Just as an example:

1) If no one survived the break-up of the planet, who recorded what happened on the tablets?
2) If the people had their noses so into their science that they did not notice that their world was about to end, who wrote the tablets to begin with?
3) Since their were again no survivors, who brought the tablets here?
4) Why bring them here to begin with?
5) Why hide them in Antarctica?
6) Other then making the story sound more believable from the UFO angle, why would the Military take them to Roswell, when other such items of interest were taken to Wright-Patterson AFB
7) Who named the planet Krypton? Scientists would more likely name it along the lines of other heavenly objects up to this time.

The whole thing smells of a lame attempt to start a “new” conspiracy theory to me, most likely for profit. Too many things in the story smack of sensationalism: using the name Krypton, taking stuff to Roswell, finding it in Antarctica, name dropping, etc…

With a bit of work, this story might make good fodder for the GLP/Renese Crowd.
