Cool video of the last few seconds of a Japanese spacecraft right before it hits the moon.

www.liveleak.com...

It will be interesting to see video on NASA's latest moon blast mission!

From Liveleak -

The crash itself happens just over the line into the dark side of the moon, but you can see its final decent and just how close it was to the surface.

Anything space related interests me. I am really interested in seeing what happens when NASA blasts the moon for water on their current mission.

edit to fix typo.

It seems China did the same a few months ago...

www.informationweek.com...

China crashed a lunar probe into the moon Sunday, according to Chinese media reports. ...China hopes to collect soil and stone samples from the moon by 2017 and send a manned rover to the moon by 2020. The country also plans to build its own space station. After the Chang'e I crash, China announced plans to send a space module, Tiangong-I, next year. The government said Chinese astronauts will live in the module and research zero gravity.

I think when they blast a hole in it, that it will start oozing cheese. I hope it's hot pepper jack YUM.

But seriously, I hope they find water.

They did find water.

And India did this with their moon probe a few months back as well. Statement was that the colors of India were now on the moon.

It's a textured representation taken from the probe's last images.

A little more info from the BBC..

news.bbc.co.uk...

The probe carried out a global survey of the Moon, mapping its 3D topography, its gravity and its magnetic field. Kaguya - formally known as Selene - also took some remarkable video of the lunar surface with a high-definition camera. Its data should shed further light on the Moon's origin and evolution.
