Chinese lanterns have become quite popular here in the U.k, so if you see orange orbs floating around the sky then it's most likely them, yet in this case the witnesses claim that it was a still night and that the orbs flew around in an un-windy like fashion.




They looked as though they were being propelled under their own power rather than being blown by the wind, it was a still night.

Isn't there an Air force base in nearby Ullswater or thereof? could be parachute flares and the two dark objects extinguisted flares.
