Lybian leader Moammar Gadhafi pledged for all nations to follow his country's example and eliminate all weapons of mass destruction.
"This is a true opportunity for real historic peace," Gadhafi told journalists in Brussels Tuesday during his first official visit to Europe in more than 15 years.

"Libya did its duty when duty had to be done by force," Gadhafi said. "Libya fought America and shot down its pilots and aircraft, but now time has come to reap the fruit and the seeds of this armed struggle, namely peace and stability.

We say to America and we declare to Europe, we say confidently and we say it loudly, we should not waste this opportunity."

Speaking through a translator, Gadhafi said: "Libya calls on all countries, from America to China, to discard and get rid of all WMD. Libya has become an example to be followed.

"The noose will be tightened gradually on those with weapons of mass destruction.

"Libya has secured itself more by discarding such programs. ... The whole world pledges and honors the security of Libya because Libya has forged the road on the path of peace."

What exactly is considered a Weapon of Mass Destruction? ICBM's? Bomb's?

To get rid of everything is suicide. You know there's always someone out there that has them and is 1-uping you. It'll never happen, as much as I'd like to think it would.

I think WMD means nukes, or greater. And Bio bombs.

According to Wikipedia, a WMD is:

Weapons of mass destruction (WMD) are weapons designed to kill large numbers of people, usually civilians but also potentially military personnel. They are generally considered to be of limited military usefulness because their destructiveness is likely to trigger an extreme response. They are also known as weapons of indiscriminate destruction, weapons of mass disruption and weapons of catastrophic effect.

Though the phrase was coined in 1937 to describe aerial bombardment, the types of weapons today considered to be in this class are often referred to as NBC weapons or ABC weapons:

nuclear weapons (including radiological weapons)
biological weapons
chemical weapons

The modern use of WMD to refer to NBC weapons was coined by UN Resolution 687 in 1991. This resolution refers to the "threat that all weapons of mass destruction pose to peace and security", and mentions in particular nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, and the three relevant treaties:

Well, kudos to the Q man.

I think its a great idea...unfortunately, it will never happen.

And he'll have a point in the end - you watch. Because he is already talking "don't make us start bombing again".
