Criminals 'Buying Identities For 50p'

news.sky.com

Underground criminals are buying personal identities for as little as 50p, a report on internet security has found.

For less than the cost of a can of coke fraudsters can buy your credit card details, your name, address and date of birth, the report found.

Data collected from over 200 countries showed 349.6 billion spam messages were sent in 2008, a 192% increase on the previous year.

The highest amount of spam sent to Europe, Asia and the Middle East is said to come from Russia, while Poland appears to host the most phishing websites.

Well I'm not at all surprised. With all the data being lost by almost every major company, government body and even the military. Added to that the false trust that these bankers set up in their advertising and methods in regards to internet banking, isit any wonder that peoples details are getting more and more available.

By the time you've signed up for an online bank account or even using the provided net banking for your bank, your details are now floating out there waiting to be found.

Then you get companies like Mcdonalds and Reed employment who require you to fill out an application form online.

Mcdonalds also uses psychometric tests in order to see if you are 'right minded' for the job

Guess they only want people who want fries with that...

Reed employment also allow you to upload your CV
www.reed.co.uk...
So not only do they get ALL of your personal details, but they get your work history too.

And it''s all done online.

full identities go for between 50p and £40.

At least we now all know how much it is going to cost us to become someone else when they start implementing micro chips under our skin..we can simply become another person at the drop of a few coins or notes...

Now, just where do we sign up for multiple ID?
Will be great for all us ATS'ers.
