*Reminder - New UFO Hunters Episode Tonight (April 08, 2009)

Summary:

Episode: UFO Hunters: Underwater Alien Bases

"On November 11th 1987, the small town of Gulf Breeze, Florida is inundated with UFO sightings. More than 200 witnesses see strange, unexplained lights in the sky. The strange sightings last through the early 1990s. The mountain of evidence is overwhelming--videos, eyewitnesses, and news coverage everywhere. But where are these Gulf Coast UFOs coming from? Shockingly, 90 miles away in Cuba, U.S. military personnel stationed in Guantanamo Bay may be seeing USO's--Unidentified Submerged Objects--rising out of the ocean. We will examine satellite images of what appear to be underwater landing strips and other strange evidence. " - History Channel

I always feel like the idea of underwater bases is underrepresented in the field of Ufology and should be looked at closer.

We just always assume they are coming down from outer space as opposed to up from the oceans.

I was suitably impressed with their last USO episode - moreso even then their first one.

This may be interesting as well.

While the episode was entertaining, it seems that the people behind UFO Hunters are willing to believe anything or any hoax. The Ed Walters photographs were shoved in our faces as fact, with Bruce Maccabee vouching that they are the real deal. Face it Mr Maccabee, Mr Walters took you and many others for a ride. The photographs are obvious hoaxes when one looks at them. When asked why the case was a hoax, there was not an answer given. Let us not forget the two major problems with the case:

1. Teenager Tommy Smith came forward and told authorities he helped Mr Walters fake the photographs. He had help with Walters' wife, his son, and another teenager.

2. The people who bought the house where Mr Walters had his encounters went into a crawl space to put in a new water line for their refrigerator. They found a model of the UFO that was photographed. The believers claim that the model was planted, but who would have looked in such a place? It was only discovered by accident.

Kevin Randle's book "The Randle Report: UFOs in the 90's" has a chapter dedicated to this case. A trip to the library to read just that one chapter would be well worth it.

The other parts of the show were interesting, but the perpetrating of the Walters photographs as real was maddening.
