Not much cause for it as the majority of food sources are on the ground or in the water, so life tends to congregate where there is an abundance of food available. Any food in the air, is easier to consume once you have a firmer footing. Also breeding in the air would be difficult, although it is not impossible (as some species can demonstrate), but then you have the problem of where would the young develop? Would they grow inside the male or female? Either case, the parent would be a lot heavier because of this. Would the eggs have to float/fly as well?

In short, the answer is no.
