So, I'm laying myself for you guys here on BTS.

Here's the story!

So I was driving home and these teenagers were trying to break a Stop Sign (by bending the steel rod in the ground) in my neighborhood. Being as that's illegal and I was in a bad mood I decided to report it to my local Police Department. So I called 911 and here's the conversation that followed.

911: 911 Emergency.
Me: Yeah I'd like to report a vandalisssss
911: Excuse me could you repeat that?
Me: I'm calling to report a vandalizzzzz
911: You're breaking up, again?
Me: Damn it I know the word why can't I say it!! Okay, some kids in my neighborhood are trying to remove a stop sign in the area.
911: Can you describe the kids please...
(blah blah blah)

So I had a huge brain fart. BIG TIME.
Worst part is that the word 'vandalism' came to me the second I hung up.
I feel like such an idiot.
They probably recorded that too...

*dies inside*

If it makes you feel better..

I once forgot the word for tweezer.. I just sat pointing with a blank stare at them and grunting.

I also forgot the word ambitious today. I forgot it again when I was just trying to type it.

Sigh.. Losing my mind at such a young age.

Man I hate when that happens, it's worst when your there for so long trying to remember the word, then when you finally remember you forget what you were going to say haha.

IT does make me feel better.

I can remember other times when this happened to me just never with anyone but myself or family.

I got one for you:

Back in about 1991, I was working for a travel agency which catered to corporate travel. My job was to call and book the hotels for business travelers (most of them regular clients). So, from the queue comes the record of someone flying into Los Alamos, NM. The requested hotel is Best Western Hilltop House Hotel‎, phone # (505) 662-2441‎

to recreate the short conversation from an old memory:

Los Alamos person answers the phone.
Me: "Hello, I'd like to check availability for a reservation arriving January 23 for two nights, leaving January 25."
Los Alamos: "Uh, excuse me?"
Me: "I'm calling to make a reservation for January 23."
Los Alamos: "Reservation? We don't take reservations."
Me, frustrated (ehwhat?): "I need to book a room for January 23."
Los Alamos: "Ma'am, we don't have any rooms, we're a Pizza Hut."
Me: "Oh, sorry." *Click*
...too bad I didn't think quick enough to ask if they'd deliver to NY!

And the next year on vacation, I drove through Los Alamos with my sister. I just had to get hold of the local Yellow Pages (no Google yet...)
Los Alamos Pizza Hut phone # (505) 662-2411‎
Helped me not feel so bad.
