Children found under the rubble, 1000s of families torn apart

PNN - The United Nations said Friday that the number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip reached 799 after the bodies of 50 children were found buried under the rubble.

Witnesses report that during last weekend the Israeli military bombed a house in Gaza where soldiers had rounded up 110 Palestinians, killing 30 people. At least 50 bodies were found, along with children, under the rubble.

Witnesses in Gaza and Israeli military sources said today that Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and projectile launches from the armed Palestinian resistance continued early Friday despite the UN Security Council finally passing a resolution calling for an immediate halt. The Israeli Cabinet is meeting to decide whether to abide the resolution or to move on to "Phase Three" of the operation against the Gaza Strip. A Palestinian spokesperson said the resolution "fell short of the aspirations of the Palestinian people."

Palestinian medical sources announced earlier the death of photographer, Ehab Wahidi, working for Palestine TV. His mother and wife were also killed when Israeli forces targeted their apartment in Tal Al Hawa, southwest of Gaza City on Thursday evening. Several other people were injured.

Breaking news! More bodies are being found in demolished houses. It seems the homes near the outskirts are being flushed out by the Israelis and residents concentrated in individual homes then destroyed to mask the mass murders.

These actions are classified as war crimes;

Convention (IV) relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Geneva, 12 August 1949.

Article. 4. Persons protected by the Convention are those who, at a given moment and in any manner whatsoever, find themselves, in case of a conflict or occupation, in the hands of a Party to the conflict or Occupying Power of which they are not nationals.

It's also a war crime for Hamas to use civilian neighborhoods to fight from.

People forget that the Geneva Conventions works both ways.

Actually it allows occupied people to use any means necessary to resist occupation. Further, your attempt of parity defies the death count. In fact your allegation appears impossible. If a Hamas individuals harm an Israeli, it is a crime at best and should be attended to by the police. The UK was expert at rounding up IRA and UDF bombers, not flattening Northern Ireland towns. That would be barbarism.

The types of crimes committed by the Israelis is uniquely a war crime and genocidal.

Really? So it's OK for Hamas to use schools, homes, whatever they like to strike Israeli targets? And it's OK for them to do so??

Have you read the Geneva Conventions concerning "irregular troops"? What happens to insurgents/freedom fighters/partisans when they caught? What sort of "protection" they are allowed?

You overlook the fact that;

Gaza is the most populated place on Earth and everywhere is near civilians,

That the UN officials have said that there where no resistance activities near UN schools despite Israeli insistence,

That Israeli does not differentiate between civilians and the resistance,

That there are no impartial third party confirmations that Hamas are using schools, hospitals, mosques, but there are witnesses from international orgs saying war crimes are being committed by israel.

There are no irregular troops or insurgents in Gaza, just the resistance. Partizans are classified as resistance. The term insurgents is a political description used to define an armed uprising by groups against their own authorities although it is often used loosely. Israel is an occupying power and alien to the area with no legitimate authority.

All human beings have human rights including war criminals.

You are only saying your comment as a reflex and appears to have no basis on reality. It is the standard zionist meme to justify the unjustifiable. You got to say something, that's all.

You also believe;

Your freedom today was secured by men that violated human rights in the past. Deal with it. Patriotic dissent is a luxury of those protected by men better than they.

You don't even recognise human rights as important so how can we take your comments denying violations seriously?

Just curious,

If "everywhere is near civilians", where exactly are Israelies supposed to target. I am going to guess you will just say, they should just pack up and leave Israel.

One other thing, based on what I have read, the so called rockets being shot at Israel are supposedly very crude and not large sophisticated pieces of equipment. So they are likely quite portable. Which suggests they can be moved very quickly from place to place. Or as the claims made by Israel, from schools to Mosques.

So how would the UN be able to make any reliable claims about where Hamas is "fighting" from. Do you really think that if they are firing rockets from schools that they would allow the UN to witness it?

I think the UN would know if rockets are launched from their properties. In the end the Israelis would have to prove why they destroyed UN buildings and killed people, not the UN.

Yes everywhere is near civilians because the Israelis packed them in there, built a wall around them and mounted a blockade.

An option would be negotiations and stopping oppression. Genocide is not a compulsory or the only option unless you want blood.

The term "genocide" is thrown around here like Palestinians firing rockets indiscriminantly.

Start with your misleading headline about 50 kids.

The article says kids were found among 50 bodies you big fat fibber.

Fatty fat fibber.

You are fine with Hammas using civilian areas to fight from and then claim that Israel can't harm any civilians saying that is barbaric.

If Israel is the barbarian then why does Hammas hide in civilian areas so that Israel won't hunt them?

Even your twisted anti-semetism can't fight that wierd logic.

Mason, I know your compassion on this issue based on the threads you post.
The only problem I have with this article is that UN is making a claim that has yet to be verified or investigated by the UN itself based on the claims of so called witnesses. Witnesses that might be Hamas themselves making the accusations. Also the Un ( first paragraph) claims 50 children, the witnesses (2nd paragraph) says 50 Bodies along with children. Seems to be a contradiction within the report.

Hamas may have wanted to keep that in mind before they set off their rockets. And just where were those rockets targeted? Israeli military bases or the center of a town?

That could be true, or Hamas policed up any evidence? Who knows?

Hamas sure isn't either.

Partisans are classified as irregular troops or insurgents. Call them what you will. Double check that Geneva Conventions and LOAC.

That's questionable. I think in the past, some war criminals have lost their rights for the actions they have committed.

Sorry, I'm saying that because I've had the GC and LOAC briefed over and over and over again.

And my quote "Your freedom today was secured by men that violated human rights in the past" is the truth, sorry to say.
