Blagojevich to pick Senate replacement

news.yahoo.com

CHICAGO – Embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has scheduled an afternoon news conference amid reports that he plans to name someone to Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat.

Blagojevich was arrested earlier this month on charges that he tried to sell or trade the seat to the highest bidder.

Citing unnamed sources, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday that Blagojevich plans to appoint 71-year-old former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris. Senate leaders have said they will not seat anyone Blagojevich names.

Isn't this the epitomy of arrogance???? Can you believe the Gonads on this crook? The Senate should NOT sit this person for any reason. They should not even accept his credentials he has to carry to Washington to be considered. This is an outrage of great magnitude!

As usual, shock and dismay gone too far. How is it something that is so unusual it merits special consideration in the court system and has the Illinois assembly so tied up they have no clue which way to go is now "TYPICAL OF OUR POLITICS!"?

Fact is, it's not typical. If it were typical then no one would have any reason to be upset, now would they?

When people start looking at things as they really are and not as they see it, then maybe we'll find some answers that mean something. If you condemn the entire process, it just doesn't do us any good. The alternatives are basically some form of despotism or pure communism, which has never worked. So, the answer is not summary judgments, the answer is weeding out those that abuse the system. It's not all that hard to do actually. The reason Blago is a story is because he's not typical. He's not only abusing the system, he's doing it with gusto. The only way Blago can survive at this point is for people to assume what he did was typical or our politics, which would make it not illegal per se. He''s relying on you to defend him. And, you're doing a pretty good job of it.
